Final Stats

University of Richmond, Va. - Senior Jessie Wolfe and freshman Kat Russell both scored within five minutes of the second half to propel Richmond (10-6-1, 4-5 A-10) over George Washington 2-1 Friday night at First Market Stadium. The goal moved Wolfe's season count to seven, a career high.

The first goal came barely into the second half at the 45:26 mark. Junior Jen Ruhe and senior Sarah Hilt assisted to Wolfe who lasered a shot past GW keeper Lindsey Rowe in the upper center of the goal.

"I was impressed with how we came out in the second half," head coach Peter Albright said. "Jessie Wolfe's goal was goal of the year."

The second goal came a couple minutes later when Hilt assisted to freshman Kat Russell, who notched a goal in the upper right corner past the outstretched hands of Rowe. Hilt's two assists moved her season total to eight, tying Kirsi Cronk for second place for assists in a single season.

"I thought we had beautiful rhythm in the second half," said Albright. "It was a great win for the seniors."

The Colonials (7-10-0, 3-6-0 A-10) scored their goal with 13 seconds remaining in the game when Kerry Philbin shot the ball past Spiders keeper Melissa Pacheco.

The Spiders travel to VMI Sunday. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
