CLASS OF 2012

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Head Coach Peter Albright announced the class of 2012 today, signaling a dramatic commitment to the future of Richmond Spiders Soccer Program. Albright and the women's soccer team will welcome four Virginia natives, along with six other girls from around the United States. The freshman class will cover the entire field including two goalkeepers, three forwards, three backs and two midfielders.

"This class is certainly one of the largest and strongest groups in the program's 12 year history," head coach Peter Albright said. " Expectations for major contributions from this group over the next four years are very high."

The Class of 2012 includes a balance of forwards, midfielders, defenders and goalkeepers, all who have the ability and experience to compete for starting positions and an important role in the Spiders quest for a third NCAA tournament appearance.

"Quality depth and the ability to develop players into elite Division I athletes has become more and more important in the Division I women's soccer world," Albright added. "The experience and technical base of this class makes us a much stronger team and program."
