As a Junior (2008-09): After capturing five A-10 medals in her sophomore season, the junior did two better in 2009 (five golds and two silvers) and established three conference records in the process... Won gold in the 100 back with an A-10 record time of 54.65, along with golds in the 200 medley relay (1:40.17 - A-10 record), 200 free relay (1:33.00), 400 free relay (3:22.87 - A-10 record) and 400 medley relay (3:40.34)... Re-broke the school record in the 100 back a week after the A-10 Championship at the Terrapin Last Chance with a time of 53.92... Also holds school records in the 400 free relay, 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay... Stands second all-time at Richmond in the 200 back (1:58.01 - A-10 Championship), third all-time in the 50 free (23.32 -A-10 Championship), third all-time in the 100 free (50.79 - A-10 Championship). As a Sophomore (2007-08): Helland donned five medals at the 2008 A-10 Championship, including four golds that came in the 100 back (56.62), 200 medley relay (1:44.02), 400 free relay (3:26.02), while the 400 medley relay set a new A-10 Championship record in a time of 3:46.54... Won the silver medal in the 200 free (1:34.32)... Was also fourth in the 200 back (2:02.84) and seventh in the 50 free (24.32)... Her time of 56.21 in the 100 back at the Terrapin Cup broke the three-year old school record of 56.43 held by Brooke Boncher... Also swam a 2:01.75 in the 200 back at the Terrapin Cup that stands as the second-fastest in school history. As a Freshman (2006-07): The freshman was Richmond's fastest backstroker during the season as she posted the team's fastest time in the 100 (56.85) and the second-fastest in the 200 (2:04.01)... Both those swims came at the A-10 Championships where she garnered gold in the 100 and silver in the 200... She was sixth in the 50 free at the A-10 Championship with a time of 24.48... Swam the lead led of Richmond's 200 free relay (1:35.24) that took home the gold medal... Was also on the lead led of another A-10 gold-medal-winning relay -- the 400 medley (3:47.43)... part of the 200 medley relay that won gold in an A-10 and school record (1:43.49). High School: Was a five-year letterwinner in swimming ... served as captain ... received All-American honors in the 100 fly, 100 back, 200 free, 200 medley relay and 400 free relay.
