ATHENS, Ga. - Sophomore Jessica Witt and freshman Lauren Beaudreau ended the third and final day of competition at the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with quality swims. Beaudreau upped her school record in the 200 breast, while Witt took part in 1650 free event during the evening's final session. The two, who helped extend Richmond's streak of three-straight years in the NCAA Championships, logged a finish of 36th place and nine points along side Virginia Tech and Nebraska in the team standings.

Beaudreau began the day with a 2:15.46 in the 200 breast prelims. Her mark was two-tenths faster than her previous best, marking a new school record. The Lafayette, Calif., native recorded a 22nd-place finish with the time, outside of the Top-16 who qualify for the evening finals.

Witt, who swam in the 1650 free timed finals during the evening session, logged a 16:57.79 to finish 39th overall. The Fullerton, Calif., native came into the event ranked 39th with a school-record time of 16:49.13.

Both Witt and Beaudreau not only helped extend the Spider swimming streak in the NCAA's, but also marked the second time in three seasons at least two Richmond athletes competed at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Witt's performance in the 400 IM, a ninth-place mark Friday evening, helped earn the Spider team nine points and a share of 36th place.
