University of Richmond, Va. - Senior defender Julia Bizer was named to the Soccer Buzz Magazine 2008 Elite Team of the week. The weekly award honors players who make significant contributions to their team. Players are then selected based on game stories and reports from each school.

Bizer, who earned 20 starts and recorded four shots last season, has already made her presence known this year.

"Julia was instrumental in our victory over JMU,"Richmond head coach Peter Albright said. "She marked All-American Cate Tisinger for 90 minutes and held her to without a shot. It was a dominating performance, and solidifies her position as one of the best defenders in the Atlantic-10 Conference."

The women's soccer team resumes play tomorrow night against the VCU Rams. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. at First Market Stadium.
