UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND - On the heels of her impressive performance at the Terrapin Cup, Richmond freshman Mary Anne Lerro was honored as the Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week on November 24. Lerro set a lifetime best in the 200 breast on the meet's final day.

The Huntingdon Valley, Pa. native shattered her previous career-best in the 200 breast with a time of 2:24.42. It was a personal-record by nearly three seconds and was good for 17th-place.

"Mary Anne gave us the courageous swim of the meet," said head coach Matt Barany. "Her 200 breast was a lifetime best by three seconds and I loved her style."

The freshman also posted a time of 1:07.15 in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Richmond finished seventh out of 10 teams at the Terrapin Cup.

The Spiders are off until after the New Year when they take part in the prestigious Swimming World's Conference Shootout Jan. 16-17, hosted by Rutgers.
