PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Richmond women's tennis team beat No. 1 UMass, 4-0, to take home third place at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships. After taking the top crown the past four years, Temple ended the Spiders' title run in the semi-final match over the weekend.

The third-seed Spiders dominated UMass in the consolation match to earn third-place. Kelly Tidwell, Xenia Schneider and freshman Isabel Arana all earned wins in singles action to give Richmond three of its four match points.

In doubles play, Pamela Duran teamed up with Ashlee Vosters to take home a win in the no. 1 position, 8-4. Erin Clark and Xenia Schneider also took down a Minutewomen duo in the no. 2 position to record Richmond's fourth point.
