Pamela Duran Earns Spot On VaSID Second Team

July 25, 2008

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond women's tennis standout Pamela Duran earned a spot on VaSID's All-State Second Team after an outstanding junior season. This is the second straight year Duran has been honored by VaSID. As a sophomore in 2007 she earned first team honors.

Duran earned 11 wins in 19 contests as the Spiders' number one singles competitor in 2008. She also picked up Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors for the third straight year. In 2007 Duran was named the A-10's Most Outstanding Performer after going 11-7 for Richmond in the top spot.

Looking ahead to the 2009 season, Duran will continue to lead the Spiders with fellow seniors Xenia Schneider and Ashlee Vosters. With three newcomers added to the roster, head coach Mark Wesselink looks to return to the top of the A-10 in 2009.
